yep for real
what i dont understand is why a lot of american V8 vehicles have a far greater engine capacity than my VN yet make only about half as much horsepower and torque and use twice as much fuel.
ps the holden EFI small block V8 is just about the ultimate in small block V8 engines for power to weight ratios and fuel enconomy

In general, the Aussie cars make far less horsepower than the American versions. Your little 5.0 wouldn't stand a chance against most stock 5.0 Mustangs here, and would be embarassed against my 5.7.

American emissions standards fuck things up a lot as far as gas mileage and power.
2005 Covette comes with stock 400hp though, niiice.

in general, aussie vehicles are built to be more fuel efficient, because of the huge distances between cities/towns in most of the country. its nothing unusual when leaving a town in the outback to see a sign that says "next petrol 500 km" or similar...

Couldn't you be arrested for saying "Mate" now? Haven't they outlawed that term in Australia?

Couldn't you be arrested for saying "Mate" now? Haven't they outlawed that term in Australia? no, thats only in parliament house in canberra (where the federal pollies hang out) i believe, and aussies wont stand for it... too much pc going on and most of us think pc is bullshit, especially when they try to tell us what aussie slang we can use.
