it's doable, basically, all you need to do is copy the itunes folder in your drive, and if you format and re-install itunes, you can import it back, itunes will take care of the rest.

ok here is another question.. is there an easy way to transfer my itunes library to another computer? i have a usb drive but it will only fit like 1/4 of all my shit.

If you have $100 to spend, you can buy an external hard-drive that will transfer via USB.
A week ago, my work bought a 500GB hard-drive from Staples for $120. I think they have a 300GB version for closer to $80. I'd look into one of those if you can. They'll work via USB, they don't require any drivers, and they're almost as portable as the iPod itself.
You can copy stuff to that drive, and you will not have to kill anyone.

OR, if you have an ipod you can use that as your hard drive, lol, possibility are endless. If you are going to use your USB drive, then it will just take you a couple of trips to pass the information, lol. If you are connected in a LAN, just share the folders and it will take you about 5 minutes to transfer all your shit.
