also, a LOT of people have died or got mutilated (is that how its written?) but maybe this whole thing will turn out good for the people in the future. * Textbooks that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years. hum... does that means that they are like, trying to erase saddam from the iraq history? or just that they are getting rid of his omnipresence?

how is it that you support the iraq war on these humanitarian grounds, which is in essence giving taxpayer money away to help people of another country, when you disagree with any kind of social program for people in america?
i think that ultimately, the iraqi people will be better off as a result of the war. but that doesn't make the war right. and it has still harmed american interests. the entire arab and islamic world is more anti-american than ever before. and the iraq war created a recruiting bonanza for terrorists. america's credibility in the world has also been lost. now the world views america with suspicion and mistrust....and perhaps rightly so.
iraq would not have been in the predicament it was before the war if sanctions were simply lifted. some countries were lobbying for this in the mid to late 90s, but america simply refused to allow any such possibility.
i still find it very hard to believe that the CIA, which is meant to be the world's best intelligence agency, could have made such a huge mistake.
pretty much the only evidence they had of weapons of mass destruction was the word of defectors, who had their own vested interests.

BUT...since we are currently doing so...might as well do the right thing if people are going complain to us if we dont. but yah..ultimatly id like us to stay out of every single conflict that doesnt directly involve us.
