The show was last night. It was fucking spectacular. Lauren Harris sucked as an opener. Her music sounds like Avril Lavigne, but the crowd respected her, we just were really quiet.
And then Maiden came out... People went crazy. It was around 27000 of us. Many from several places across Central America had made the trip. Including 1000 people from El Salvador who came in buses. There were flags from Costa Rica (of course), Panama, El Salvador, Colombia, Honduras, and of course the British flag...
After The Trooper the audience was so fucking loud, Bruce just sat on the speakers and took it all in... He had made a bid deal that this was the first Maiden show for this audience, and he gets all serious and says "are you sure you've never seen maiden before??" then he said that 2 days ago they had played for 50000 people in Mexico, but that we were MUCH louder. He then said "So I'll just get along with the next song, otherwise we will be deaf before the night is through..." and Wasted Years began...
Later on he asked us to the wave, and we followed his finger to get coordinated. He said he had never done that before, and asked the camera crew to film it for a "movie" they are making.
It was really something else. They had so much energy. Like 20 year olds jumping up and down.
Best live show I have ever seen.

"One of the irrefutable Laws of the Universe is that Latin audiences are just the best. Sorry guys, but we North and Eastern Europeans, North Americans, Aussies and the rest just can't match them for sheer passion. We may appreciate the bands equally but our Latin friends are just hot wired genetically to be much more intense and emotional and a full on Latin audience is a joy to behold, whether it's Italy, Spain, Portugal or Mexico or Costa Rica -- or as we shall soon see again Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. As you all know Maiden pour out a lot of intensity and passion from on stage and these audiences return it with huge interest!! And this audience tonight was every bit as great as any we have ever experienced. Early in the set they stopped the show for 5 minutes chanting for the band and the lights glowing throughout the stadium for FotD was again very moving. Every arm was in the air almost throughout the show -- and many had been standing for hours after camping out nearby for a week to get near the front."

I couldn't think how to express this properly, and I still can't, but... I might as well try: I'm crazy jealous. That's freaking awesome, dude. I'm glad you had a great time of it.

We had the wave at the Sydney show as well! Sounds like a great show. I think the places they haven't been to in ages are just really letting it all out. Would be an experience to remember. Best show i have been to and sounds like it's the same for you.

Yeah. I watched it.
Was intense. I always forget: no matter how loud the band is... The band could be Motorhead or Gwar... The crowd is still always going to be louder.
And that's just freakin' awesome.
